God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way. God relented of the disaster which he said he would do to them, and he didn’t do it.

But the tax collector, standing far away, wouldn’t even lift up his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, a sinner!’

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world produces death.

Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Yahweh.

I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.

Turn at my reproof. Behold, I will pour out my spirit on you. I will make known my words to you.

The times of ignorance therefore God overlooked. But now he commands that all people everywhere should repent.

‘Return to me,’ says Yahweh of Armies, ‘and I will return to you,’ says Yahweh of Armies.

The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.

I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.

I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.

Therefore produce fruit worthy of repentance!

The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord.

Yahweh your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn away his face from you if you return to him.

Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting.
